Simple Steps To Loving Yourself

In this season of love , a lot of people are going to reaffirm their love, others are going to find love while others are going to realize that they were never loved and so they will fall out of the relationship.

Which ever category you belong to, I have good news for you and this is it: The greatest relationship you need is the relationship with yourself after a relationship with God.
It is the foundation for any other relationship you desire to have.
Relationship with self sets the platform for every other kind of relationship.
It is vital to note that - your most favorite person and best friend should be YOU.
This is because no one knows you better than you(except God of course).

There is a great problem with people who cannot stay by themselves, they always want to gist with people or find solace in people's arms.
For such persons, their sense of belonging and pride comes from people's approval.

In this age of social media, a lot of people use this platform to express their inability to stay solitary.
 So you see status on facebook or Instagram like;
"I'm bored, I'm lonely, I need a shoulder to lean on, can someone take me out, etc"
Listen, without a successful intra personal relationship, a good inter personal relationship cannot be achieved.
I can tell how you relate with people by the way you treat yourself.

Some people get into relationships/ marriage in bit to heal from being single and alone.
Yes, I know marriage is for companionship  but its vital you understand that :
You aren't qualified for marriage if you aren't satisfied and fulfilled as a single.

If you always need to be with people to feel good, then I'm sorry to announce to you that marriage won't cure your loneliness but will only reveal a great degree of it. So get ready.

Here are some tips that can help you develop love for yourself.

1. DISCOVER WHO YOU ARE
When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable - Myles Murone.
Self discovery empowers self appreciation.
Self discovery places a degree of value on you. It makes  you begin to see yourself as important and worthy.
How do you discover yourself?
The truth is, you can't do this outside your creator.
You are not your own, you were created by God and only the Creator can explain the true purpose of His creation.
So ask God why He created you and what He created you for.

2. CREATE YOUR WORDS OF AFFIRMATION LIST.
What you say about yourself reflects how you see yourself.
Consciously affirm positive things to yourself daily.
Words are like atomic bomb, they can  cause a complete change of experience.
Sometimes ago I created a list of things I say to myself and believe me I've seen them in reality.
Don't wait for people to say nice things to you,you say them to yourself.
No one can appreciate you better than you.
Look at yourself in the mirror, point at yourself and say with a smile " I love you "

3. CREATE YOUR GRATITUDE LIST
Gratitude is in indication that you realize you didn't come this far on your own.
When you sit back and evaluate what you've been through and how God loves you, it empowers a sense of love on your inside.
What you appreciate God for will multiply.
Ingratitude dries up your blessing.

Even if you've made terrible mistakes in the past, thank God you didn't die in the process or maybe you haven't achieved all you planned to achieved, be grateful for they ones you've achieved.
God placed so much value on you, don't waste it.

4. QUIT COMCOMPLAINING

Complains complicate issues rather than solve  them.
Yes you made a mistake in the past, you  must not live there.
Realize that sometimes good people make improper choices, so forgive Yourself and forge ahead.
Shake off the dust and move on.

Complains keeps you in a fixed position where you are blind to other good things.
When you focus on the things that are not right about you and the circumstances you've been through, you slow down your progress.
Stop complaining about the things you didn't do well, give yourself another chance.

5. INVEST IN YOURSELF
What you love you'll invest in.
What should you invest into yourself?
A. Time: Spend quality time with yourself.
You don't need people around you always.
Create time for deep thoughts and evaluation
B. Knowledge:
Knowledge gives you an authority for intelligent communication and contribution.
Seek relevant knowledge in various field.
Knowledge they say is power.
Knowledge increases your value and places you on demand.
The difference between two individuals is KNOWLEDGE.
Read books, attend seminars and conference, listen to intelligent minds.
C. Money
Set aside money for yourself.
Sometimes you just need to ignore other peoples needs and focus on yourself.
Its not selfish to love who you are and take care of yourself.
When last did you buy yourself something?
Especially in this season of love don't wait around for people to buy a gift for you.
Yes, they might but initiate the process, you'll feel better even if they don't.
Who you love, you give to.
D. Prayers
Yes, prayers.
Pray for  love to be shed abroad in your heart. Love for God, love for yourself and other people.

6. MIND YOUR ASSOCIATION
Stay away from people who make you feel less, people who focus more on exalting your negativities.
Its better not to have a relationship than to have a faulty one.
Focus on relationships that challenges you to do better and develop the best in you.

7. FOCUS ON GOD'S APPROVAL RATHER THAN MEN'S APPROVAL.
Men may abuse you, call you all sorts of bad names, tell you how unfit you are, but what does God words say about you?
Its says " you are a god" , "you are a light and a salt" , "you are a royal priesthood" , "you are God's replica" etc.

Be more interested in what God says than what people are saying concerning you.
Stop seeking approval from people.
People's opinions are inconsequential but God's words about you stands true forever.

Search to know what God says about you, believe in them and see you love yourself again and again.

I hope this has been inspiring and has blessed you.
If yes, please share let others too be blessed.
With Love
