HIDDEN PRIORITIES
Working in a telecom company couldn't be that easy for Julie, she was a beautiful single but devoted lady who has been seeking for a job for five years after gradation.
Finally favour came her way and she started working as a customer care rep in one of the reputable telecom companies.
On a faithful Monday morning as unending calls kept coming in, her ears felt like she was having blisters as the ear piece mounted lots of pressure of them.
Her intestinal walls were singing different versions of R&B music, she thought of obtaining permission to go respond to the hunger pangs but decided to maintain some more discipline.
Her eyes were watery and almost dim for want of a good sleep, considering she barely had a good night rest the previous night because she had tons of work on her desk.
Here she was resting her head on her desk desiring for lunch time to come soon, but she just had to manage through.
Immediately the clock struck 1pm, she hurriedly found her way down the hallway to the canteen.
Half way to her destination she met Davis, a handsome tall slender gentleman, a colleague of hers, a secret admirer.
He was the head of operations. He was crazy about her but with genuine intentions though.
Then the unthinkable happened.
He drew closer to give her a hug, but she declined and got defensive.
For his rank and status at the company, that was unexpected.
What could have caused such unpleasant response?
Can you guess?
It was the smell from his dental cavity, it was bad enough to intensify the acrobatics going on in her stomach.
He looked promising yet repulsive.
Bad breath had made his good intention sound disastrous.
The hunger pangs were gone, the desire for a good meal suddenly vanished, she couldn't handle the thought of vomiting as she imagined the taste on his tongue.
The first impression from him had left a lasting impression in her heart.
Most times we over look salient things that can create a good lasting impression about us.
In recent times, basic grooming, courtesy and good manners seem to be on a long-term sabbatical.
They've turned into hidden priorities.
Good manners have become so scarce that whenever you see them being practiced by someone, it looks so surprising.
People now eat breakfast with unbrushed mouth and they feel its okay to do so.
